About the position

At the Department of Language and Literature (ISL), section for Spanish, NTNU is a vacant 100% permanent position as a university lecturer in Spanish with an emphasis on cultural knowledge.

 

The section for Spanish currently has three employees who teach and research in language, literature and cultural knowledge - the three disciplines that are traditionally linked to studies of foreign languages at Norwegian universities and colleges. We offer an annual program and a bachelor's degree in Spanish with specialization in these disciplines. The focus areas for the section are interdisciplinarity and interest in contemporary life, understood as the 20th and 21st centuries. We are concerned with varied teaching and good contact between students and subject teachers. All teaching takes place in Spanish.

 

Responsibilities

Teaching, supervision and assessment work according to the current study plan, mainly within cultural knowledge

Professional development work and administrative tasks

Further development of the study portfolio in Spanish and recruitment of students

Participation in research and development projects (R&D)

Teaching mainly within cultural knowledge, but also within the other two disciplines when needed

eligibility Requirements

Master's degree or equivalent in Spanish, preferably with specialization in Spanish-language cultural knowledge or history

Relevant teaching experience at university level within the subject area and / or research qualifications within Spanish-language cultural knowledge beyond the master's or master's level

Very good oral and written presentation skills in Spanish. Good oral and written presentation ability in Norwegian (possibly other Scandinavian language) and English

Relevant practical pedagogical competence based on education or teaching and supervision must be documented. If this cannot be documented, the person who is appointed is required to complete an approved course in university education within two years after employment. NTNU offers qualifying courses. 

 

We refer to the Regulations on employment and promotion in teaching and research positions for general criteria for the position. NTNU commits itself to following evaluation criteria for research quality according to The San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment - DORA.

 

Desired qualifications and academic orientation

 

In addition to competence requirements within cultural knowledge, competence within the other two disciplines will be an advantage

Interest in both Spain and Latin America in R&D and education

Interest in and experience of building professional networks nationally and internationally

Ability to keep up-to-date and develop further within the subject area Spanish-language cultural knowledge

Focus on the 20th or 21st century in R&D and education

Experience with varied, research-based and student-active teaching

 Personal characteristics

Interest in and ability to inspire students

Good collaboration skills

Interest in and ability to develop the study portfolio in Spanish at NTNU

Interest in arranging and attending academic events for students and staff

Personal fitness and motivation for the position

Salaries and terms

The position is paid as a senior lecturer, position code 1009, with a minimum annual salary of NOK. 421.700, -. The person who is employed will normally be paid from NOK 464,800 to NOK 524,200 per employee. years depending on qualifications. From gross wages, 2% is deducted from the Government Pension Fund.

 

Workplace is the Department of Language and Literature, NTNU Dragvoll. It is a condition that the person employed is available to the department on a daily basis.

 

The employment is carried out in accordance with the principles of the State Employees Act, and legislation regulating the export of knowledge, technology and services. After hiring, you must expect changes to the work area.
