The School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) at the University of Alberta in Edmonton offers both on campus and online MLIS teaching and learning streams, as well as the combined MA/MLIS in Humanities Computing programs, the combined MBA/MLIS (School of Business) programs, and an individual interdisciplinary PhD program through face-to-face instruction.


SLIS is interested in receiving applications for part-time sessional instructor appointments during Fall 2019.


LIS 505: Introduction to Research in Library and Information Studies (online course)

LIS 597: Advanced Scholarship and Research in LIS (Main Campus)

Interested candidates must have a minimum of a master's degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS), or equivalent, and professional work experience in the area of instruction to be considered qualified. Related teaching experience is strongly preferred. Applicants who are prepared to contribute to our MLIS program through asynchronous distance delivery education should indicate their level of experience and/or interest in developing and teaching a course online and with the support of our in-house learning facilitators.


Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with the Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) Agreement.
