Position Description


DRAM 225 Introduction to Scenography


Current Offering:


Fall 2019 LEC 01 Tues 2:00-3:50 p.m., LAB B01 Thurs 2:00-3:50 p.m.


Sessional hired at 1.0 HCE


Course Description:

An introduction to performance design and the disciplines within it: scenery, props, lighting, costumes and sound. Includes a study of the history of theatre design and space. Topics regarding contemporary notions of scenography will be explored, for example performance art, ritual, etc.

Course Hours:3 units; H(2-2)

Antirequisite(s): Credit for Drama 225 and 222 will not be allowed.


Notes: Attendance at two live theatre performances will be required. Additional costs may be incurred. This course is required for all Drama majors, but is open to all undergraduate students for registration.


This course is required for all Drama majors, but is open to all undergraduate students for registration. This is a course that caps at 80 students offered in a lecture style.




    Master's degree in Drama and/or equivalent professional experience in theatre

    Significant teaching experience and demonstrated ability to deliver entry-level theatre production curriculum at the post-secondary level
