Position Description

 

The Department of Classics and Religion invites applications for a sessional instructor to teach the following course in FALL 2019, (SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER).

 

RELS 373.12 - Topics in Religious Studies - Introduction to Sikhism: TR 12.30-1.45pm

    Proof of completion of PhD or PhD candidacy** (if not already on file)

    Teaching evaluations from a course you have taught or for which you have been a TA

    Cover letter indicating which courses you are interested in teaching

    Current CV

    Three academic reference letters (if not already on file)

    Statement of teaching philosophy and methods

    Course names and descriptions of courses you have taught

    A course proposal and reading list for each course you are applying for

 

**Doctoral students who have passed their candidacy exams 30 days before the course begins are eligible to apply. Please indicate in your letter of application the anticipated dates for completion of the candidacy exams.

Please note that the courses are tentative, pending sufficient enrollments.

 

For salary information, please refer to TUCFA's Collective Agreement, Schedule B. As per the Collective Agreement, the Department of Classics and Religion adheres to the right of first refusal terms (Section 23.12.1 and 23.12.2) for Sessional Appointments.
