Teaching Associate in Linguistics with a Foreign Language (Part time, Fixed term)
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, marking and associated administrative duties for undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures, predominantly in the area of linguistics. A focus on language acquisition and translation would be an advantage. Depending on the expertise of the post-holder, s/he may also be asked to develop his/her own module in a relevant subject area.
Candidates should have a PhD in Linguistics (PhD completed or near completion by the time the post begins) or equivalent in relevant subject area or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience. Candidates should be native or near-native speaker competence in at least one of the following languages: French, Spanish or Chinese (or native speaker competence in English if one of the above language is the applicant’s first language).
This position is part time (27 hours per week), fixed term from 1 September 2018 until 31 December 2019.
