Duties and Responsibilities

 

A full-time teaching fellow is sought to act as programme lead for the new BA History of Art, Materials and Technology programme and to deliver the following four modules in the academic year 2019/20:

 

    Year 1 'Introduction to Art and Science' module is scheduled to be taught from 11.00-13.00 on Tuesday mornings over the autumn term 2019.

    Year 2 'Methods and Materials II' module is scheduled to be taught from 09.00-11.00 on Monday mornings over the autumn term 2019.

    Year 1 'Methods and Materials of Artists' module is scheduled to be taught from 16.00-18.00 on Monday afternoons over the spring term 2020.

    Year 1 Thematic Seminar is scheduled to be taught from 11.00-13.00 on Thursday mornings over the spring term 2020.

 

In addition to this teaching, and the administration that comes with the delivery of undergraduate teaching which includes marking and the preparation of learning materials, the successful candidate may be asked to supervise undergraduate dissertations.

 

 

 

The post is 1 FTE from 1 September 2019 to 31 August 2020 in the first instance.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent expertise, specialist knowledge and professional experience in history of art, materials and technology, and conservation science, and a command of relevant theoretical discourses within art history.
