Position description

The Department of Literature at UC San Diego invites applicants to teach Beginning level and Intermediate level Korean Language classes for 1 full-time position and 3 part-time positions. One full-time lecturer will teach 8 Beginning level classes during the academic year and 3 part-time lecturers will teach 1 or 2 Beginning or Intermediate level classes in the fall quarter.

Basic qualifications applicants must have:
• B.A., M.A. or Ph.D. in Korean Language, Linguistics, Language Acquisition, Language Education or related fields by the time of appointment (M.A. or Ph.D. preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years of Korean language teaching experience at the university level (preferably at North American institutions)
• Native or near-native proficiency in Korean and Advanced or above proficiency in English
• Experience in teaching Korean language using computer technologies and the Internet resources

Candidate’s CV should demonstrate excellence in teaching Korean.

Salary and level of appointment are based on qualifications and UC pay scale.
