TENURE TRACK SCENIC DESIGNER:

The Scenic Designer will be responsible for designing for productions as well as teaching related classes while providing opportunities for students to have laboratory experiences in the scene shop. Candidate will teach courses such as Stagecraft, Lighting, Advanced Stage Lighting and Advanced Technical Design, Oversee the coordination of all aspect of scene shop. Engage actively as a collaborative and committed member of the drama faculty through assistance with productions, advising, retention and recruitment. Perform campus-wide faculty duties, including holding office hours, attend department, division, and other administrative unit meetings; serve on committees; and, adhere to campus policies and procedures. Participate in course and program assessments. Be able to lift 20-50 pounds as well as actively work in the scene shop.   
 

A Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Scenic Design is preferred. Successful candidate will have successful teaching experience and designing skills at college/university level. Possess strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate experience in Computer Audio Design (CAD), scenic construction, painting, lighting, properties, and sound. Actively participate in professional theatre organizations on state and national levels.

ADJUNCT FACULTY POSTION:
The candidate will be teaching various classes in person and may teach up to four classes per semester based upon the enrollment.  Those classes may include: Introduction to Drama, Directing, Modern Drama, Theatre history, Acting One, Acting Two, and Acting Three, and Children's Theatre.  The ideal candidate will have a MFA in the related subject, college teaching experience and will be able to adapt to a diverse program.  The number of classes taught each semester is not guaranteed.  The pay is $2,500.00 per 3 credit hour course.
