Summary of Duties

Ph.D.’s in pre-1800 English Literature with teaching experience are invited to apply for a two-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of English at The Ohio State University at Lima for the academic years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. Publications and teaching experience in composition and/or Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies are desirable. The individual hired will teach 6 courses at the undergraduate level on the Lima campus. Salary is competitive and preference will be given to candidates who will reside in the Lima area.

Our current enrollment of approximately 1,000 students includes both traditional and nontraditional learners, allowing for small class sizes with approximately 18 students per classroom. Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in English in hand at time of appointment; record of successful teaching in literature and composition courses; ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Desired Qualifications

Publications and teaching experience in composition and/or Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team; energetic and enthusiastic self-motivator.
