Number of Positions Available- 1 University Title -Visiting Assistant Professor of English Working Title- Visit Assist Prof of English Department -Lima Campus Department Location -Lima Requisition Number- 462543 Summary of Duties Applicants with their terminal degree in Creative Writing are invited to apply for a two-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of English at The Ohio State University at Lima for the academic years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. Publications and teaching experience in two of the three genres required for Ohio State’s minor in Creative Writing – fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction – are preferred. The Visiting Assistant Professor will also teach introductory literature, culture, and/or composition courses. Experience in directing student-created publications is particularly desirable. Faculty on the Lima campus are members of The Ohio State University English Department who participate remotely or in person in departmental meetings and events. Faculty in the Department of English benefit from interdisciplinary collaborations across the five campuses. The largest campus and home to the department is located in Columbus, Ohio, a 90-minute drive from Lima. Preference will be given to candidates who will live in the Lima area and who can commit to establishing an active on-campus presence The Ohio State University at Lima is one of six campuses through The Ohio State University. Our current enrollment of approximately 1,000 students includes both traditional and nontraditional learners, allowing for small class sizes with approximately 18 students per classroom.
