Position Summary
The Intensive English Program, Department of Second Language Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington invites applications for a position as Visiting Lecturer in ESL, beginning August 2020. 10-month appointment (five two-month sessions) with option of teaching an additional summer session in 2020. Renewable up to one year, contingent upon satisfactory performance and instructional need. Classes meet daily. Candidates will teach four courses per session.


Basic Qualifications
MA in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Studies, or closely related field required. Coursework must have included TESOL Methods and Practicum. Must have experience teaching in university-based intensive ESL programs, overseas experience desirable.


Applications should include a cover letter, official graduate transcripts, three recommendation letters (recommendation letters should be submitted using the application system) and a teaching portfolio that includes a CV, statement of teaching philosophy, and demonstration of effective teaching (e.g., record of teaching, original instructional materials). Applications will be accepted until position is filled; however, deadline for submission is March 23, 2020 for interview before TESOL.
