with tenure track (W2)

The person to be represented should represent the subject area didactics of the English language in research and teaching. Prerequisite is a focus in the empirical foreign language teaching or teaching / learning research. The candidate should be identified in at least one of the following areas: Competence orientation in the FU, Secondary language acquisition, Language learning, Testing and Assessment, Learning strategies, Younger EFL Learners, or Content and Language Integrated Language Teaching (CLIL). The teaching commitment is initially four, and later five semester hours per week.

The junior professorship is limited to three years. After three years, it can be extended for a further three years due to a positive evaluation. After a total of six years, after positive evaluation, she will be transferred to a permanent W2 professorship.

The ability and willingness to conduct English language courses in the Bachelor's and Master's programs of the English Department, combined with the acquisition of third-party funds, as well as cooperation with other subject-related didactics and the Center for Teacher Education (ZfL) of EMU expected. Participation in academic examinations and university self-administration is also part of the service. In addition, participation in EMU's Graduate School of Empirical and Applied Linguistics would be desirable.

Prerequisites for admission:
The conditions for admission result from § 36 Landeshochschulgesetz NRW: An above-average degree in English (1st state examination or equivalent Master's degree), pedagogical aptitude, the ability to perform challenging scientific work, which is usually due to the quality of a relevant doctorate is detected. In addition, a school practical experience through own teaching is required, preferably proven by the 2nd state examination. Also desirable are school-practical publications and experience in the acquisition of third-party funds.
