The job holder should have a strong research focus in the field of institutions and media of the history culture as well as related mediation, communication and reception processes, especially in museums and archives. In teaching, the didactics of history is to be represented in its entirety for all teacher training courses. Responsible participation in existing and future research networks is expected as well as international visibility. It also expects cooperation with all the institutions and institutions involved in history teacher training.


The prerequisites for admission are a university degree in history, a special pedagogical qualification and a special qualification for scientific work, which is generally proven by the quality of the didactic dissertation. In addition, additional academic achievements in the field of history didactics are required, which have been provided in the context of a junior professorship, a habilitation or an activity as a research associate at a university or a non-university institution in Germany and abroad. In addition, the state examination (1st State Examination or Master of Education and the 2nd State Examination) and teaching experience in history are required.
