Food for Justice examines normative issues of inequality and justice, rights and democracy, which are discussed in discourses on the question "How will we feed the world?" come up. There is an increasing politicization in the production, distribution and consumption of food as the relationships of food production are structured by economic, social, political, cultural and environmental inequalities. Citizens are increasingly perceiving the global food system as part of the historical causes of the ecological crisis and continued world hunger. Although the reasons for this have long been known, research on food security and bioeconomics tends to rely on old-fashioned: She searches for technological fixings for a profit-oriented model with simultaneous exploitation of living matter. What is needed to deepen the debate is more knowledge about which food system citizens want, which solutions already exist, which address social concerns, and how public policies can be redirected to a fair and sustainable food system. Food of Justice combines theoretical perspectives on global inequalities with social movement research on food justice and will examine challenges and solutions both in Europe / Germany and Latin America / Brazil. Food for Justice deals with social mobilization, which aims at injustices in the food system,
